Vegetable Tempura



	
1	cup	Bisquick
1	cup	cornstarch
1	tsp.	baking powder

2 		eggs
1 1/3	cups	milk
1	drop	yellow food coloring

Suitable fresh vegetables:  
		green beans: parboiled for 5 minutes,
		cut in 2" lengths
		carrots, green pepper -or- celery: cut 
		in diagonal slices
		broccoli florets: parboiled
		potatoes, sweet potato -or- taro: thinly
		sliced small branches of green leafies
		like spinach/watercress

A)	Combine Bisquick, cornstarch and baking powder.
B)	In a separate bowl, mix together eggs, milk and 
	food coloring. Add dry ingredients and mix together
	only enough to combine.
C)	Heat oil to 370F.  Dip vegetables in batter and 
	cook in heated oil until golden brown.  Drain on 
	absorbent paper.
